GMB halts for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor legal action update

Good Morning Britain issued a major update in Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's case against Thames Valley Police and the Central Criminal Court over his arrest earlier this year. The former prince launched legal action against the search warrants following his apprehension on his 66th birthday.

Arrest and release under investigation

After the humiliating apprehension on his 66th birthday, the former Duke of York was interviewed under caution and then released under investigation after being held in custody for 11 hours. Andrew, who was stripped of his titles over his connections to Epstein, was forced to move to the Sandringham estate and is now asking a judge to determine if the force's action was lawful.

With the first court hearing taking place today (October 8), presenter Richard Madeley questioned: "Are we going to see Andrew himself turning up or will ot just be the men in suits?"

Correspondent's response

During Thursday's episode of the ITV programme, correspondent Nick Dixon responded: "Given the massive interest in this, I don't think anyone would be surprised if Andrew lets the lawyers handle this one."
