A man was shot dead in broad daylight at a popular British holiday hotspot in Barcelona, Spain. The incident occurred on Carrer de Balmes at approximately 10:00 AM local time (9:00 AM UK time), according to reports.
Details of the Incident
The victim was killed with a single gunshot to the head, and the gunman fled the scene immediately after the attack. The shooting took place on a city center street directly in front of the National Police's DNI office, which handles the issuance of National Police ID cards and passports.
Investigation Underway
The Catalan police, along with agents from the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC), have taken charge of the investigation. Authorities have obtained images of the suspect and recovered a firearm from the crime scene. A law enforcement operation has been launched to track down the perpetrator.
