Llandudno Crash: Five Injured, Air Ambulances Deployed

Five people, including four pedestrians and a driver, were rushed to hospital following a multi-vehicle collision at Mostyn Champneys Retail Park in Llandudno, North Wales, on Saturday morning.

Emergency Response and Injuries

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 11am on July 18 after reports of a multi-vehicle collision involving pedestrians. Two air ambulances landed at a nearby coach park to assist. An ambulance service spokesperson confirmed: “We were called today at 10.52am to an incident in Mostyn Champneys Retail Park, Llandudno. We sent one Cymru High Acuity Response Unit, one Duty Operations Manager and three emergency ambulances to the scene. Advanced critical care support was delivered by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service in two Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopters. Five patients were conveyed by road to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.”

Police Investigation and Witness Appeal

North Wales Police are investigating the crash and have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam or mobile phone footage. A force spokesperson said: “Shortly after 10:50am we received multiple calls regarding a multi-vehicle collision which involved a number of pedestrians. The driver of one of the vehicles involved and a number of pedestrians were transported to hospital for further assessment. We are urging anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle being driven prior to the collision or was in the area at the time to contact us. We are also appealing for anyone who may have any dash camera or mobile phone footage of the vehicle being driven prior to the collision to contact us.” The spokesperson added: “We are aware of speculation circulating on social media regarding this incident. We can confirm that this is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the wider public.”

Conditions of the Injured

The condition of the five injured individuals remains unknown. Police have not released further details about the nature of the injuries or the circumstances leading to the crash.
