Former Blockbuster in Penarth Offers £20 Three-Course Lunch This Summer
Former Blockbuster Offers £20 Three-Course Lunch

Hickmans, a brasserie and bar in Penarth that now occupies a former Blockbuster Video store, has launched a nostalgic 'Blockbuster Lunch' offer every Tuesday throughout the summer. Diners can enjoy a three-course meal from the full lunchtime menu at average 2013 prices, with starters at £5.59, mains at £10.62, and desserts at £4.20, totalling £20.41.

Nostalgic Pricing Tribute

The promotion pays homage to the building's history as one of Penarth's best-known Blockbuster stores, which closed in 2013. The restaurant announced the offer on Instagram, stating: "We’ve been hinting at this for a few months, and that’s right, we’re winding the clocks back every Tuesday lunchtime! Welcome to the Blockbuster Lunch, a tribute to our history, and as they closed in 2013, we wound it back to that year's averages." The team emphasised that there is "no skimping on portions, exactly the same as usual."

Full Menu Included

Rather than a limited menu, Hickmans is including its entire lunchtime offering in the promotion, allowing guests to choose from the same dishes served on other days. Known for its seasonal menus, rotisserie, Sunday roasts, and rooftop terrace, the restaurant blends nostalgia with upscale dining. The offer is expected to be one of Cardiff's most talked-about dining deals this summer.
