EasyJet is expanding its network between the UK and Spain with six new routes launching in 2027, including four first-time direct connections and a new base at Girona Airport.
The low-cost carrier will establish its new base at Girona Airport in north-east Spain, with two services operating from there. One of these will be the first-ever direct flight between Girona and Liverpool.
New routes from Girona and Murcia
The Girona-Liverpool route launches on March 28, 2027, with flights twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. Around 9,000 seats will be available during the first year.
EasyJet will then begin flying between Girona and London Gatwick from June 3. The route will operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays, with around 8,000 seats expected to be available in its first year. Passengers already have another option between Girona and Gatwick, with Jet2 operating the route twice a week.
The airline is also adding a new connection between Murcia and Liverpool, giving travellers another direct way to reach the northern English city. The route launches on March 29, 2027, with flights operating twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. At present, no other airline offers a direct flight between Murcia and Liverpool.
Expanding Scottish connections
EasyJet is also expanding its Scottish connections, with two new routes to Aberdeen launching next year. A new Barcelona to Aberdeen service will begin on March 31, 2027, operating twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are currently no other airlines offering direct flights between Barcelona and Aberdeen.
Travellers looking to fly directly from Spain to Aberdeen in 2026 currently need to travel from Alicante or Malaga, where Ryanair operates services.
Mallorca will also get its first direct connection to Aberdeen when easyJet launches flights on May 3, 2027. The route will operate twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays, giving passengers in Aberdeen a new direct option for reaching the popular Balearic holiday island.
Bilbao-Edinburgh service
Finally, easyJet will launch a new service between Bilbao and Edinburgh from March 30, 2027. Flights will operate twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The route is new for easyJet, although passengers can already fly directly between Bilbao and Edinburgh with Spanish low-cost airline Vueling.
The six new services will add thousands of seats between the UK and Spain and provide travellers with more direct options for reaching popular Spanish destinations without needing to connect through another airport.
