£12m Lost Lagoon Waterpark Opens at Kent Coast Park

Haven has officially opened its £12million Lost Lagoon Waterpark at the Kent Coast Holiday Park near Rochester, marking the first day of operation on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. The new attraction is a centrepiece of a broader £50million development programme at the park, one of the most significant investments in Haven's history.

Grand Opening Ceremony

Television personality Joe Swash, joined by The Seaside Squad, cut the ribbon at the grand opening. Local councillors, schoolchildren, and Haven team members were also present, enjoying an exclusive first look at the family destination. Swash, a regular guest at the park with his family, commented: "It's an incredible pool complex. My children are all different ages and there's genuinely something for each of them to enjoy - whether they're building confidence in the water or racing down the slides. Family holidays are all about spending quality time together, having fun and creating memories and this waterpark does exactly that."

Waterpark Features and Theme

The waterpark boasts an immersive underwater adventure theme, featuring a variety of slides, splash zones, and swimming areas designed for all ages and swimming abilities. It aims to cater to families seeking excitement and quality time together.

Broader Investment and CEO Statement

The £12million waterpark is part of a £50million investment into the Kent Coast Holiday Park. Simon Palethorpe, chief executive officer of Haven, said: "The Lost Lagoon Waterpark is a fantastic addition to Kent Coast and a great example of how we're continuing to invest in the experiences that matter most to our guests. Whether it's the excitement of the waterslides or families simply spending quality time together, it's all about creating more memories that last a lifetime." He added: "We're seeing more families choosing to holiday in the UK, and it's important that we continue to give them even more reasons to choose Haven. Investments like Lost Lagoon Waterpark demonstrate our commitment to providing outstanding facilities and experiences for the millions of guests who holiday with Haven each year," reports Kent Live.

Impact on UK Holiday Market

The opening reflects a trend of increased domestic tourism, with Haven investing significantly to attract families. The waterpark is expected to boost local tourism and provide a major draw for the Kent Coast Holiday Park ahead of the summer holidays.
