A small bed and breakfast in Llandudno, Wales, has been recognized as one of the finest in the world by TripAdvisor. Burleigh Guest House, located on Church Walks, has earned a spot in the prestigious TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Best of the Best Hotels awards, an honor bestowed upon fewer than one percent of all listings on the platform.
Exceptional Recognition
The award is based on the quality and volume of traveler reviews collected over a 12-month period. Burleigh House, which features just eight guest rooms, has been named the third-best B&B in the United Kingdom and ranks 11th globally in the B&Bs and Inns category. The property is praised for its beautiful decor, lovely garden, and thoughtful amenities, including high-quality toiletries, fairtrade hospitality trays, and iPod-compatible alarm clocks.
A Labor of Love
Steve and Julie Wood have operated Burleigh House for the past two decades after leaving their careers in Greater Manchester to pursue their dream of running a seaside guesthouse. Their dedication has resulted in exceptional reviews, with one recent guest describing their hosting as a "masterclass." The couple expressed their gratitude, stating, "To be placed 3rd in TripAdvisor's Best of the Best in the UK 2026 is a great achievement as we are coming up to 20 years in November, owning and running Burleigh House. We both gave up our well-paid jobs in Stockport and took the big step into the unknown."
Welsh Success in Hospitality
Burleigh House was not the only Welsh establishment to receive recognition. Other notable winners include The Lake Country House & Spa in Powys, Min Y Don in Llandudno, and Grove of Narberth, which was named the fourth-best Small & Boutique Hotel and Luxury Hotel in the UK. The awards highlight the highest-rated hotels worldwide across seven subcategories, including Top Hotels, All-Inclusive, Family-Friendly, and more.
The achievement underscores the excellence of Welsh hospitality on the global stage, with Burleigh House standing out as a testament to the dedication of its owners and the enduring appeal of Llandudno as a destination.
