Two site managers overseeing new-build housing developments in Kilmarnock have been recognised as industry-leading professionals by the National House Building Council (NHBC).
David Cooper from the Barratt Homes Lairds Gait site and Mark Harris from the David Wilson Homes site at Lairds Gait received the coveted Pride in the Job award for their commitment to delivering high-quality homes safely, on time and to the highest standards. The NHBC Pride in the Job Awards are often called the ‘Oscars’ of the housebuilding industry.
Recognition for excellence
David, who has worked with Barratt Homes for five years, and Mark, who has worked with David Wilson Homes for three years, oversee construction at the respective Lairds Gait developments. They are among a select group of site managers nationwide to receive the accolade following a rigorous judging process involving thousands of inspections. The award recognises exceptional standards in site management, leadership and build quality, highlighting the crucial role site managers play in delivering high-quality new homes safely, on time and to the highest standards. With site managers passing on their skills to their teams and mentoring assistant site managers, the awards help drive up quality standards across the industry.

David and Mark’s success also contributed to a standout year for Barratt Homes parent company Barratt Redrow, whose site managers secured 122 Pride in the Job awards – more than any other UK housebuilder. It marks the 22nd consecutive year that the housebuilder has topped the national awards table, underlining its continued focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

Earlier this year Barratt Redrow also achieved a five-star rating from its customers in the HBF Customer Satisfaction Survey, which recognises both build quality and excellence in customer care. This is the 17th year in a row that Barratt Redrow customers have rated it a five-star housebuilder, underlining the company’s long-term commitment to making its customers happy.
