According to research by Fast Loan UK, Kilmarnock in East Ayrshire has been named the cheapest place for a pint in Scotland. The study investigated average pint costs across the UK, revealing that Kilmarnock offers an average price of £3.25, which is £1.58 lower than the UK-wide average of £4.83. This makes it an ideal destination for World Cup viewing without breaking the bank.

Popular Pubs in Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock boasts several pubs and bars where fans can enjoy the tournament. First Edition on Bank Street will offer special limited-edition food and drink inspired by the World Cup, including loaded Canadian fries, American cheeseburger fries, Mexican spicy waffle fries, Heinz chicken goujons, and Miami peach lemonade. The pub's website states: "There's no better place to watch the biggest tournament in football than the pub."

The Standing Man on Portland Street is a traditional venue serving a wide selection of drinks and showing live sport on multiple screens. It will broadcast Scotland's match against Morocco and even give away a Scotland top to one customer on the night. The Saltire Bar, a family-run sports bar near Kilmarnock's train station, features two bars and a large beer garden, offering a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Scotland's Affordable Pint Locations

Scotland is home to five of the ten cheapest locations for a pint in the UK. Other affordable destinations include Dundee (average £3.67), as well as Ayr, Falkirk, and Greenock, all offering pints for £4. Overall, the cheapest pint in the UK was found in Bury, England, at an average of just £2.75.
