Second-generation Isle of Sheppey retailer Jatinder Sahota has moved his store from Londis to Spar with a full refit and expanded chilled and frozen ranges.
Store history and refit details
The store, in the town of Minster, has served the community for more than 30 years and was previously known as Max’s Londis. The refit includes energy-efficient chillers, a significantly expanded chilled range, and a larger frozen offer featuring Iceland products.
The store layout has been redesigned to open up the frontage and improve visibility into the shop. The move also introduces Spar’s revamped meal deal, a selected Philpotts range, and an enhanced food-to-go offer through Country Choice. The coffee offer has moved from Tchibo to Smoking Bean.
Owner's ambitions and supplier support
Sahota, who has worked in the store since the age of 16, said the switch to Spar reflected his ambition to modernise the business while staying true to its independent roots.
“We’re a family-run store and we know our customers personally – many have shopped here for decades,” he said.
The store’s refit is supported by AF Blakemore & Son, Spar’s largest UK wholesaler.
