IKEA has announced a new collaboration with Xbox, launching the YXSTABY collection on October 1, 2026. The range includes nine pieces of furniture and homeware designed to offer subtle gaming references while remaining practical for everyday home use.
Practical pieces for gaming at home
The collection features a gaming lounge chair, a gaming TV stand, and a gaming side table, all built with light and airy designs. The TV stand and side table come with castor wheels at the base, making them easy to move around and store when not in use.
For additional seating, IKEA is offering two new stools in green and black, shaped like the contoured thumbsticks found on an Xbox controller. The collection also includes a green cushion shaped like a D-pad and a console table platter featuring the modern octagonal D-pad design.
Storage and display options
Three pieces focus on organisation. The gaming controller display box, available in black or white, is lined with mirrored pieces inside and is designed to fit a controller. A storage box doubles as a gaming laptop support, and a gaming monitor stand comes with hangers for controllers.
Design philosophy behind the collaboration
Product design developer at IKEA, Philip Dilé, said: “How people play at home has shifted, and it is as much about relaxing and connecting with others as it is about performing, which changes what the space has to do. XBOX knows what players need from their gaming setup, and we know how to solve the small problems that come with adapting that to everyday life at home. Together, we set out to make furniture people really want in their home, not furniture they accept because it is what you need to game.”
Carl Ledbetter, head of design at Xbox, added: “At XBOX, we think a lot about what helps players feel immersed in a game. The hardware is an important part of that, but so is the world you create around it. Working with IKEA gave us the opportunity to design for the entire gaming experience at home, from the screen to the space around it.”
The full YXSTABY collection includes the gaming lounge chair at £89, thumbstick stools at £35 each, gaming TV stands on castors at £99 each, the gaming side table on castors at £115, controller display boxes at £15 each, the gaming laptop support with storage at £19, the gaming monitor stand at £25, and the D-pad cushion and platter at £12 each. The entire range arrives at IKEA on October 1, 2026.
