A woman has admitted responsibility for a dangerously out of control XL bully dog that fatally attacked a teenager in Bristol. Kelcie Reed, 24, pleaded guilty to being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, causing injury resulting in death.
The XL bully, named Prince, inflicted fatal injuries on 19-year-old Morgan Dorsett inside a flat at Cobhorn Drive, Withywood, Bristol, on February 26 last year. Ms Dorsett, from Shrewsbury, Shropshire, suffered severe bites to her neck during the incident. The dog was subsequently euthanised.
Reed, of Barrowmead Road, Lawrence Weston, Bristol, spoke only to enter her guilty plea during the hearing. She was released on conditional bail and is scheduled to be sentenced on July 9.
This tragic case highlights the ongoing concerns surrounding XL bully dogs and their potential for violence. Authorities continue to emphasise the importance of responsible ownership and adherence to safety regulations.
