A Lockheed Martin scientist who claimed to possess top-secret clearance at Nevada's Area 51 gave a 'death confession' about aliens at the classified base before he passed away. Boyd Bushman, aged 78, sat down with independent aerospace engineer Mark Q Patterson shortly before his death on August 17, 2014, revealing a stack of photographs he said were of extraterrestrials.
Alien Encounters Revealed
'They're approximately five feet four inches to five feet tall,' said Bushman, holding an image of what he touted as an alien lifeform. 'One or two of them were around 230 years old, and we had at least 18 of them operating around the facility.' He alleged that around 13 years prior to the interview, he came into contact with a person connected to physicist Edward Teller, often referred to as the 'father of the hydrogen bomb,' who Bushman claimed remained involved with secret programs tied to Area 51 after J Robert Oppenheimer was removed from the facility.
Claims of Ongoing Contact
According to Bushman, he stayed in regular contact with the head of the program and continued receiving updates about classified projects. The engineer said he still held top-secret clearance but believed information hidden within the 'dark recesses of Area 51' should be revealed to the public. The resurfaced video comes as the Trump administration released the first UFO disclosure files this month, with a second phase planned 'very soon.'
There is no publicly available evidence confirming Bushman’s claims about extraterrestrials or secret UFO programs at Area 51. Skeptics have long questioned Bushman’s allegations, noting that photographs he presented as alien beings appeared similar to commercially available prop dolls sold online.
Patents and Background
Bushman held dozens of patents tied to advanced aerospace and military technology during his decades-long career at Lockheed Martin and other defense contractors. His inventions included systems for detecting missile exhaust plumes, reducing infrared signatures on aircraft engines, electromagnetic propulsion devices, laser-powered thrust systems and advanced target detection technology designed for military aircraft and missiles. Several patents also focused on futuristic magnetic propulsion concepts, energy transfer systems and experimental aircraft technology, helping fuel later speculation surrounding his claims about secret government research and UFO reverse-engineering programs.
UFO Photographs and Technology Claims
Bushman claimed that his people inside Area 51 sent him pictures of not only alien bodies, but also UFOs being held at the base, and claimed anti-gravity is one of several technologies being hidden by the government. 'This is a UFO that is ready to take off, and they informed me that it contains three elements: cobalt, germanium and gadolinium,' he said, holding a photograph up to the camera. 'I did not say metal once. Not only that, but these things pick up and fly using anti-gravity.'
'Here's another picture. In this case, the UFO is not turned on and ready to fly, so you only see the upper part of it. Generally, it's white on the underside when power is applied. Here's another one of the same type. These UFOs are 38 feet in diameter, and that was rather surprising to me.' The scientist then claimed that there was a hidden underground shaft at Area 51, specifically designed for UFOs to land and take off.
Alien Origins and Further Claims
Among other wild claims, Bushman said that the aliens kept at the base hailed from a planet 68 light-years away called Quintumnia, but that it takes them just 45 minutes to reach our planet. Bushman showed what he claimed were several alien photographs, showing creatures with small heads full of veins, large eyes and feet with five toes that are 'joined together like a frog.'
Area 51, officially established in 1955, remained largely under the radar until 1989, when whistleblower Robert Lazar appeared on television. He claimed he had worked at a hidden facility near Groom Lake, known as 'S-4,' reverse-engineering alien spacecraft, further cementing Area 51's place in UFO lore. While Lazar's claims have been dismissed as a hoax, Bushman claimed that there were American citizens suited up at the base and working on UFOs 24 hours a day.
'There's been a total of 39 US citizens who have lost their lives trying to reverse engineer UFOs,' said Bushman. 'Last one I heard of was a year and a half ago, where we lost 19 lives in one test. They actually wanted to bring a line craft near the UFO, and the UFO defended itself.'
