Miley Cyrus received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, but some family members, including her father Billy Ray and sister Noah, were seemingly absent from the ceremony. The 33-year-old singer was surrounded by close friends and loved ones, such as her mother Tish, older sibling Brandi, and partner Maxx Morando.
This event comes nearly one year after the 'Flowers' hitmaker revealed that her family endured a 'really difficult, dark decade' but resolved their issues without therapy. Although her father appeared not to be in attendance, Cyrus referenced him during her speech, saying, 'My dad used to say that a skyscraper starts with a jackhammer. So does a star on the Walk of Fame by the way.'
Cyrus later flashed a cheerful smile as she posed next to her new star, which sits directly across from the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. It is the 2,845th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and is in the Recording Category. The former Disney Channel actress was also supported by cheering fans and special guests Anya Taylor-Joy and Donatella Versace.
Cyrus has had a rocky past with her father Billy Ray, but the pair recently appeared to be on good terms. Last year in May, the father-daughter duo reunited in a photo uploaded to Instagram by the 'Achy Breaky Heart' singer. Speculation of a possible rift between Cyrus and Billy arose back in 2025, and a source previously told the Daily Mail that she was worried her father could ruin her music comeback at the time. She also notably did not include her father in her speech when she accepted her first Grammy in 2024 for Best Pop Solo Performance for 'Flowers.'
Leading up to their May 2025 reunion, a separate insider told TMZ that Cyrus and Billy Ray have a 'good relationship.' Despite claims of a frosty relationship, the outlet reported the reality is entirely opposite. The insider emphasized that Miley is on good terms with both her dad and mom Tish.
In May of last year, Cyrus publicly addressed rumors about her relationship with mom Tish after Tish denied unfollowing her daughter on social media. The songstress wrote on Instagram Stories: 'I rarely comment on rumors, but my mama and I are too tight for anything to ever come between us. She's my best friend. Like a lot of moms, she doesn't know how to work her phone and somehow unfollowed me - simple, coincidental and uninteresting.'
The star also admitted both she and her dad have faced 'challenges over the years.' She said: 'Now, in my 30s, family is my priority above all else. I'm at peace knowing bridges have been built and time has done a lot of healing. Grateful for the good health and love that flows through my family.'
The following month in June, Cyrus also got candid about her loved ones going through a 'dark decade.' During an episode of the 'Reclaiming' podcast with Monica Lewinsky, she said: 'My family and I have had a really difficult… What did you call your decade? Dark decade. Yeah, we had one of those.' She explained that the family resolved issues without therapy or family counseling. 'We're so messy we didn't even do any of that. Just to get each other into a room to get to counseling would have been a war.' At one point, 'half' of the family 'weren't speaking to each other at one point, and we cleaned all that up.'
Cyrus shared that she also had 'a lot of loyalty' to her mother Tish following her parents' divorce in 2023. She expressed: 'I watched what happens when you don't clean things up as they're happening. They really do stack, and then all of a sudden you go, "Oh my God, it's been 10 years, and this is a mess that I barely even know how to start. This is like emotional hoarding."'
The singer's sister Noah was also seemingly absent from the ceremony on Friday following the 'love triangle drama' involving mom Tish. In 2023, Tish tied the knot with 'Prison Break' star Dominic Purcell after it was rumored he previously 'hooked up' with Noah before beginning his relationship with her mother. Noah notably skipped her mother's wedding to the actor, but the pair appeared to have been on better terms recently. In March, Tish and her daughter Noah made their first red carpet appearance together following the claims as they attended the 'Reminders Of Him' premiere in Los Angeles.
Cyrus posed and gave an emotional speech as she received her star. Her mother Tish also seemingly hinted at another possible milestone. The songstress was joined by her mother and older sister Brandi for family photos. At one point, Tish called out, 'We're gonna bring the husband,' and motioned Morando over. The couple flashed smiles before Morando leaned in to place a gentle kiss on Cyrus's cheek. Despite Tish referring to Morando as her daughter's 'husband,' the couple themselves have yet to confirm they have tied the knot. Daily Mail has reached out to Cyrus's reps for comment but did not immediately hear back.
Cyrus and Morando began dating in 2021 following a blind date and have mainly kept their romance out of the spotlight. In December, the actress unveiled a gold diamond ring on her left hand at the premiere of 'Avatar: Fire And Ash.' Their engagement was soon confirmed, with the ring estimated to be worth around $150,000. A few months earlier, a source told Us Weekly that Cyrus was considering 'eloping' with Morando instead of having 'another wedding.'
Cyrus told attendees during her speech: 'What's so special to me about this star is that it's an accumulation of devotion. The star isn't something you win like a seasonal game, it's not something that you can chase or collect, it's not something you make the next record for and then tote it around like a trophy.' She later said: 'To my fans, you are the stars that make my dream a reality everyday. Through your love and your support. And I thank you.' Towards the end of her speech, she became emotional while giving a shout-out to her loved ones: 'To my family, my future family, my parents, my mom, my siblings, my friends, my collaborators. Thank you for loving and supporting not only the choices that I make, but my fears and then facing them with me.'
Cyrus gushed that she will 'never forget' the special day. She glammed up for the event in a sleeveless, black Versace gown with various cutouts. Her blonde locks were parted in the middle and flowed down past her shoulders in light waves. She opted for minimal accessories, adding a few bracelets to her left wrist and her engagement ring on her left hand.
