A powerful bomb exploded near a railway track in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta on Sunday, wounding more than two dozen people as a passenger train passed through the area, officials confirmed.

The force of the explosion caused two train cars to overturn and catch fire, sending thick black smoke into the air, according to footage shared online. The blast occurred in a location where security forces are typically stationed, and it severely damaged several nearby buildings, also smashing vehicles parked along the road, as reported by witnesses and images circulating on social media.
Casualties and Response
Doctors at local hospitals reported receiving more than 30 wounded individuals, several of whom are in critical condition. Balochistan government official Babar Yousafzai stated that authorities are still investigating the blast but provided no further details.
The attack has raised concerns about security in the region, which has experienced sporadic violence in the past. Emergency services responded promptly, and efforts are underway to treat the injured and assess the full extent of the damage.
