Travel chaos has engulfed London this evening after a massive fire broke out near Hackney Central station, forcing the suspension of train services. The blaze, which erupted on Cottrill Gardens, close to the station, sent huge flames and thick black smoke billowing into the air, as captured in images from the scene.

Firefighters Battle Blaze

The London Fire Brigade confirmed that eight fire engines and approximately 60 firefighters were deployed to tackle the fire. A static caravan and two cars were alight, along with part of a grass embankment. The brigade stated: "Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters are tackling a fire on Cottrill Gardens in Hackney."

Transport Disruption

Transport for London reported severe delays on the Weaver Line, with no service operating between Stratford and Gospel Oak on the Mildmay Line. Passengers are advised to seek alternative routes and expect significant disruption.
